Interview with mom author Elizabeth Pantley

Oh, I am SO excited! Today, Alana and I had the honor of talking with Elizabeth Pantley, author and parent educator of several wonderful resource books for parents. Her latest, The No-Cry Sleep Solution for Toddlers and Preschoolers is published by McGraw-Hill and has received amazing reviews. Her schedule is unbelieveable! Her upcoming speaking events take her literally around the world and back...she is going to AUSTRALIA for a week to speak at the Australian Breastfeeding Association...Australia!!! She is one dedicated mom writer! I was so comfortable chatting with Elizabeth over the phone, it was like talking to an old friend -she is very friendly and down-to-earth - a real sweetheart! Thanks Elizabeth and have a great time Down Under!

Interview with Jill Murphy Long

I love this job. Paula and I had the pleasure of interviewing Jill Murphy Long, who wrote the Permission to Nap, Permission to Play and Permission to Party (you can see these at her site www.PermissionBooks.com). What an incredible woman. She went from being an ad exec to being a freelance writer and has all kinds of wonderful things to say about being a mom and a writer. Now, I obviously can't give away what she had to say, you have to listen to the show for that, but I will tell you this - she gives us permission to do things for ourselves! And they're fun things like taking naps and stuff! Jill also offers several writer's workshops, so we invited her to be back on the show in the summer to give our listeners some tips. Keep checking our website for updates on this. In the meantime, go check out our latest show with Elizabeth Brundage. It's a good one!! And stay tuned - soon I will be adding information about our Blog Tour and resources we like. Thanks for reading and happy writing!!

Interview with Mom Writer Jill Murphy Long

What a phenomonal interview! Today Alana and I had the absolute pleaseure of chatting with author Jill Murphy Long - I could sit and listen to her for hours! She has such amazing ideas and her Permission To book series sounds awesome! What a talented writer she is with such an inspiring message for us all! Just from talking with Jill for a half an hour I learned how desperately I need "Permission to Play" and "Permission to Nap"! It is SO important for our souls -- and our everyday stress levels! We are hoping to have Jill on our show again this summer - Thanks Jill, you are a live-saver! Paula

Interview with Deborah Ribis

Yes, I know this is late, but better late than never, right? ;) Last week, Paula and I chatted with mom author Deborah Ribis. She is the author of Get Back On Your Feet! What Every Injured and Ill Person Needs to Know. Deborah has an interesting story because she came into writing late in life. She was a nurse for 20 years and decided that after going through an injury, and subsequent insurance and doctor run arounds), she decided to write a book from an insiders point of view. Her book addresses how to manage the junk that comes with dealing with doctors, insurance companies and work issues that come with having an injury or disability. If you or a loved one is disable or has sustained a life changing injury, I strongly recommend this book.

Announcing the MWTR Blog Tour!!

Hi everyone! I am pleased to announce that we will be beginning our very own blog tour. If you aren't familiar with blog tours, check out this article by The Dabbling Mum. It is a great intro into the world of blog tourning. I will post the specifics of the tour in a few days, but this will be a great way for newer authors to promote their writing on a wide range of blogs. If you have a blog and want to participate as a host on the Mom Writer's Talk Radio Blog Tour (wow, that's a mouthful), please send me an email at Alana @ MomWritersTalkRadio.com (without the spaces, of course). Stay tuned!

Today's Interview with Mom Author Elizabeth Brundage

I second that Alana - WOW! I was so impressed with Elizabeth's knowledge and thrilled that she wanted to be a part of our talk show. She is definitley someone I would love to go out to lunch with - Imagine how much we could learn from this mom writer! I am so anxious for her next novel but it sounds like we will all be waiting awhile...Darn! Thanks again Elizabeth! Paula

Our interview with Elizabeth Brundage...

Wow. What an absolutely stunning interview. Today Paula and I had the pleasure of interviewing Elizabeth Brundage, author of The Doctor's Wife. As we were talking with her, I was amazed at her knowledge of writing and her eloquence at explaining the different facets of the writing process. She has a Masters in Creative Writing and studied screenwriting at the American Film Institute, which oh, by the way, happens to be top in the country. One thing I learned from this interview is that screenwriting can be good training for fiction writing, because it forces the writer to tighten up the story. It also focuses the writer on the audience, not just the characters. And remember, if you are wanting to become a novelist, you have to have an audience. It also helps if they like what you write. :) I hope our listeners enjoy this show as much as we did. Elizabeth has wonderful advice and shares it willingly.
